What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic style is collaborative, engaging, and highly individualized. I believe the best therapy is built on a genuine partnership where curiosity, openness, and trust allow us to explore patterns, challenge assumptions, and create meaningful change. Clients often describe me as thoughtful, practical, nonjudgmental, and thorough. While therapy can involve difficult work, I also believe humor has an important place in the process and use it naturally when appropriate. One of the principles that most influences my work is balance. Many of the struggles people experience arise from becoming pulled toward extremes—whether it’s emotion versus reason, vulnerability versus guardedness, rigidity versus chaos, or self-sacrifice versus self-protection. Rather than striving for perfection or eliminating life’s inevitable tensions, I help clients develop the awareness and flexibility needed to find their own middle path. Balance is not a destination but an ongoing process of adjustment, and therapy provides an opportunity to strengthen that capacity. I specialize in the treatment of trauma, including childhood trauma, attachment and relational trauma, and betrayal trauma. I have specialized training in working with betrayed partners impacted by compulsive sexual behavior and pornography addiction. Additionally, I have eight years of experience working with members of the Orthodox Jewish community and value providing culturally informed care that is respectful of each client’s beliefs, values, and lived experience. I take an eclectic approach to treatment because I don’t believe in cookie-cutter therapy. Every client brings a unique history, personality, strengths, and goals, so treatment should be just as individualized. I integrate evidence-based approaches—including EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Attachment Theory—to create a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs. Throughout our work together, I priori

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I understand that finding the right therapist is one of the most important factors in successful treatment. For that reason, I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation before scheduling an appointment. During this conversation, we’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, I’ll answer any questions you have, and we’ll determine whether my approach is a good fit for your needs. If I don’t believe I’m the right person to help, I’ll do my best to provide thoughtful referrals to clinicians who may be a better match. Our first session is focused on developing a thorough understanding of your concerns, your history, and the factors that may be contributing to your current difficulties. By the end of this initial evaluation, I’ll share my clinical impressions, discuss how I conceptualize what’s going on, and provide recommendations for treatment. If we decide to move forward together, we’ll identify meaningful goals and develop a treatment plan tailored specifically to you. The direction of therapy depends on your unique needs, and I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches to guide our work. Throughout treatment, we will periodically review your progress, discuss your experience of therapy, and adjust our goals and approach as needed to ensure our work remains effective and aligned with what’s most important to you. Therapy is an active, collaborative process. My role is to provide clinical expertise, guidance, and accountability while creating a space where you feel comfortable exploring difficult experiences, gaining insight, and building the skills needed to create lasting change.
