In addition, my background as an internal medicine physician-having earned my Doctor of Medicine from Cornell University and completed my residency in Internal Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical Center-allows me to understand the unique struggles of those in the medical field, as well as those living with chronic illnesses. I have trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy and Bioenergetic Analysis, both powerful ways to connect with the experiences and parts of ourselves that had to be buried or remain unrecognized. Bioenergetic Analysis uses work with the body (via movement and breathing) to bring to the surface emotions and experiences that we disconnected from by disconnecting from our breathing and sensory experience. In psychodynamic psychotherapy, we pay attention to the running thoughts in our mind, the relationship patterns in our life, dream content, and thoughts and feelings that arise within the psychotherapeutic relationship to bring to life buried thoughts, feelings, and fears that we developed early on in our lives and that shape who we are today. It would be a privilege to help guide you in this important endeavor. I offer a free phone consultation, which can be accessed by booking a session. I am not in network with any insurance; however, I do accept HSA/FSA payment and can provide a bill for your out-of-network benefits. I also have several slots for sliding scale clients when there is financial difficulty.
