Marissa is extremely knowledgeable, explained what was happening with my injured foot and how each treatment and exercise was addressing the problem. Marissa is a great PT who is knowledgeable and has great bedside manner!

Free Body Physical Therapy helped me recover quickly from an injury. Marissa was great to work with and I was impressed with how she was able to see small movements and recommend adjustments to correct. Through manual therapy and exercises I was able to resume activities I wasn’t able to initially. Marissa and the team made the PT process enjoyable and effective.
I spent a couple months working through some back issues with Marissa and it was great! She spent as much time addressing my ongoing pain as she did setting me up for success in the future — I left with new exercises and habits that will help me avoid and mitigate issues down the line. I always looked forward to our sessions and while I'm not planning on getting hurt again anytime soon it's nice to know I have someone to call!
I had a great experience seeing Marissa. She was such a good listener and asked really important questions. She explained everything she was doing and educated me about what was going on with my body. She also did dry needling which I had never done before. I woke up this morning and I am honestly shocked by how much relief I got from the dry needling. I can’t believe it. I can’t recommend Marissa more highly and I’m excited to continue to work with her.

Marissa was kind and answered all of my questions. She offered helpful exercises right away and even used my phone to take pictures of me doing them so I could reference them later. Adriana at the desk was helpful and kind in scheduling follow-ups. Excited to keep working here!
Absolutely amazing experience — highly recommend!

A review long overdue! I looked forward to coming in for every appointment - *everyone* at Free Body was super friendly and welcoming. I specifically worked with Marissa and I really appreciated the plan that she built for me to get back into working order - each week I could feel the progress I was making, and that's all thanks to her putting the time and consideration into learning about and responding to the problems I had. Anywho, 10/10 recommend Free Body - thanks Marissa and team!
Marissa is super nice and will listen to all of your concerns. I feel a lot better because of the exercises and advice she gave me and I feel like I’m in control of my healing process. Thank you guys so much.
Marissa is a great therapist! She’s knowledgeable, kind and caring. I received the best therapy ever! One-on-one with my therapist is unique and so personalized!! She helped me out to recover from a sport injury. In a few weeks, I was ready to come back to soccer, I'm so grateful. I can’t praise everyone enough!!
Professional, friendly, and an excellent communicator. Lucky to have stumbled across Marissa for my back, shoulder and neck injuries. If you are interested in finding a physical therapist who cares and is interested in seeing her patients succeed - you’ve come to the right place!
I began physical therapy at Free Body around September of 2022, after having experienced several months of intense upper back/neck pain. I'm a long-distance runner and triathlete, and I was nervous I'd be unable to train for the Chicago Marathon in 2023. Marissa Nemec was a phenomenal therapist. Not only was she friendly and personable, but she also treated each session over an 8-month period with equal significance, asking detailed questions each time about my progress, pain levels, and what specific goals I had for myself. She explained, in concise terms, exactly which muscles we were working on and which symptoms each stretch was meant to address. Our sessions often included deep-tissue therapy, dry needling, and a variety of at-home exercises. I often left them feeling physically better than I had in weeks. I'm now three months into marathon training and running up to 12 miles without back pain. Incredibly grateful to Dr. Nemec for getting me back on track!

marissa was so pivotal in helping me recover from my severe neck pain. she is knowledgable, communicative, accepting and very skilled at what she does. i had no idea what dry needling was before she told me about it, and it ended up being something that really improved the intense pain that i was feeling and helped me a lot during my treatment. after working with her and her peers for about a month, i was finally able to get my pain under control. but if anything happens to come up again, i know i'm heading straight back to her!!

I was involved in a pedestrian accident and although I didn’t break anything, I still had pain in my knee that was preventing me from having full range of motion. I went to see Marissa and in a matter of a couple of sessions I started feeling a huge difference. She’s really good at listening your concerns and habits to ensure she gives you actionable steps to take home and help in your recovery. While in session with her, she always made sure our time together was enjoyable and that she worked on my knee in a way I couldn’t do at home. I am so thankful to Marissa because I now have full range of motion back on my knee and I’ll miss coming into seeing her!
Excellent people , from my first visit to my recent visit I seen major process. I would say these sessions have helped a lot, they also made sure to educate me very well .
My visit was great I love this place. Marc and Marissa get right to work on finding out the problem.and with in days you start seeing results. Highly recommend free Body physical therapy
My visit was great. Shout out to Vanessa and Leidy for working with my irregular schedule. Huge thanks to Marissa as well. I'm a performer so I'm always putting my body through a lot, but she always manages to fix me right back up.
Marissa is a fantastic Physical Therapist . She made me feel very comfortable with her and made sure to push me healthily. I was definitely hesitant at first to go to physical therapy because I was nervous that it was not going to be worth the money, but it definitely was worth it. I definitely appreciated the one on one interaction and her attention to detail.
I had physical therapy with Marissa and was in such excruciating pain. After a few sessions and take home exercises, I felt amazing! Marissa took her time to make sure I was doing my stretches properly and make sure I understood the benefits. After my sessions, I felt amazing I no longer have any pain.
I found Dr. Marissa Nemec to be very knowledgeable, personable and patient. She took time to explain procedures, the underlying mechanics, and the expectations — complete with examples from muscle and bone anatomy illustrations. She is also warm and friendly, using the time she was spending manipulating joints and muscles to also get to know me better and chat about life. The space is also bright and welcoming. All together, this was one of the best physical therapy experiences that I've had.
I went in with severe neck and upper back pain. I could barely move my head and sleeping was terrible. After one visit with Marissa I was 50 percent better. I continued to improve over the next 4 weeks and was 100 percent back to normal after only 5 visits. The speedy recovery was essential since I am a mom of 2 small children. I was back to holding and playing with them pain free in a short period of time. Marissa is so kind and reassuring. The dry needling was so effective with the manipulations and exercise. I highly recommend Marissa and the Free Body team!
Free Body Physical Therapy was a recommendation from my primary doctor. I am extremely grateful for experiencing Free Body PT services. They provide top of the line one on one patient care and Marissa is outstanding! She immediately understood my issues and was able to build a personal recovery plan for me with clear milestones to get me through the rehab process. Marissa makes you appreciate the small wins that motivate you throughout the rehab process. She is excellent at explaining why certain exercises are important and is outstanding with understanding patient care. And they have a parking lot for their patients! I highly recommend them!
I went to Free Body Physical Therapy as I was having knee pain, I saw her for about 2 months and now my knee feels great. Marissa had me doing exercises I didn't think I could do (Spanish Squats for example), now I can walk for longer periods of time, going up and down stairs feels easier and I dont have to have a knee replacement anymore (I am 78 yrs old). Thank you!! I also went to Marissa later in the year so I could get balance exercises and saw her for about 2 months as well. Very friendly staff, free parking and they have a really relaxed atmosphere. You work with only a Physical Therapist, and they only treat 1 person at a time. Years ago I went to a different clinic and they had me working out in the corner by myself!
Extremely thankful I found Free Body Physical Therapy after breaking my ankle earlier this year. The 1 on 1 patient care they provide is what caught my attention. I couldn't be happier with my choice as the 1 on 1 approach is a unique opportunity I didn't have at previous PT providers I'd been to. I've worked with Marissa since April and have seen incredible results going from crutches without weight bearing to a back to jogging program. She created a personal recovery plan for me with clear milestones that help to provide small wins and motivation throughout the extensive rehab process. Along with the plan, she's great at explaining why certain exercises are important for the process rather than just providing a list of to-do's. Both her and Marc are excellent people with a deep understanding of health and patient care, and I can't say enough positive things about my experience here.
