Hi there, I'm Mary! Hello! My name is Dr. Mary Hakimeh, PsyD, and I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University. I am an evidence-based psychologist. My approach to therapy combines space to help you process with gentle guidance to encourage you to reach your goals. My approach I consider myself client-centered and tailor my treatment style to each individual. However, my most common theoretical approaches blend Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Attachment-based perspectives. My focus I have experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and presentations, ranging from grief to trauma to depression. My main clinical interests include supporting clients exploring their identity, those with relationship challenges, and individuals managing anxiety. My communication style Early on, I spend time getting to know you and understanding your story. Initial visits often involve more listening and follow-up questions to deepen my understanding. As we progress, I may offer gentle guidance or challenge your perspective to help you move toward your goals. My journey to therapy I have always been fascinated by human behavior and what makes us tick! It is a privilege to walk alongside individuals seeking support and to provide a safe space for sharing your story. My goals for you Having a clear goal is essential to guiding therapy, even if it's as simple as ?I want to improve my relationships.? In our initial sessions, we will discuss your goals and what achieving them looks like, collaborating closely to help you reach them. My first session with you The initial visit may feel a bit different as I ask background questions to better understand you.

Great and active listener. Made me feel comfortable
Verified patientVideo visit
Not a good listener; constantly interrupted and asked to finish quickly. In her Zoom session, I actually felt gross afterward due to her hasty attitude instead of feeling better mentally. After 40 minutes, she said I was not fit since my main issue was trauma, which she doesn't treat. My question is: couldn't it be resolved before the Zoom meeting?? Even if she decided not to provide this type of therapy, she should have completed the scheduled 60-minute session with proper advice and guidance if she were a bit more professional and mature. After all, it was a paid session and my time is valuable too. Poor experience!
