480 W Jubal Early Dr, Ste 120, Winchester, VA
Dr. Megan Russell graduated from Brigham Young University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Bioethics. Her early career was spent working in clinical research managing drug and device clinical trials for a variety of medical specialties including bariatric surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, cancer, and more. Megan first became interested in physical therapy after learning about the brain-body connection and its influence on pain during her undergraduate studies. Her interest continued to grow as she had several successful experiences working with physical therapists to rehab after minor injuries, childbirth, and surgery. These experiences inspired her to pursue the goal of becoming a physical therapist so that she could help others heal the way that her physical therapists helped her—through movement! In preparation to pursue her goal, Megan earned a graduate level certificate in Anatomy and Physiology from Shenandoah University in 2022. She graduated with distinction in 2024 with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Arcadia University. She is currently pursuing education through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, and she has completed courses in pregnancy and postpartum rehabilitation with plans to continue pursuing further education and specialization in pelvic floor rehabilitation. She is passionate about helping her patients get back to doing what they love by achieving improved function while decreasing and eliminating pain. Megan lives in Stephenson, Virginia with her husband and two kids. She enjoys knitting/crocheting, reading, long walks with friends, yoga, and working out. She remains actively involved in the local research community as a member of the Valley Health Institutional Review Board (IRB).
