Life is filled with transitions that can challenge us in unique and unfamiliar ways. My work as a therapist centers upon the understanding that how we approach and overcome these challenges greatly impacts not only the quality of our daily lives, but the type of person we become. One of my main goals as a therapist is to help my clients better understand instances where they may get in their own way and to use this new knowledge for personal growth.
I help those struggling with demanding new roles, such as recent graduate, partner or spouse, divorcee, parent, retiree, widower or caregiver. As your therapist, I will support you through the uncertain times that surround change and partner with you in a way that will deepen your self-knowledge and enhance overall well-being. I take an open, honest, and non-judgemental stance, when collaborating with my clients providing a new relationship through which to explore their concerns.
I work with adults, both individuals and couples, and have expertise working with older individuals and those facing questions related to caregiving, aging and loss.
I am trained in Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Psychodynamic and Interpersonal Therapies (see our website for details). Using techniques from these models, I provide concrete skills to alleviate symptoms and create a better sense of wellbeing while also working to enhance overall awareness of problematic patterns.
Please note that I am out-of-network with all insurance companies, but I submit insurance claims for my patients as a courtesy. Also, if you book an appointment you will be contacted shortly after to set up a brief phone call to determine if we will be a good fit.
