About Michael Tolerico

Michael started my Occupational Therapy journey at Montclair State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and played baseball for 4 years. Upon graduating, he worked as an Exercise Physiologist for 2 years at the RWJ Barnabas Health where he provided youth athletes and adults with pre- and post-concussion testing. He took his passion to help others to Wesley College and earned his master’s degree in occupational therapy in 2019. He’s been working with Professional Physical and Hand Therapy since graduating and received his Certification in Hand Therapy in 2023. With Michael’s combined passion for sports and hand therapy, he can treat a wide range of clientele that include youth and collegiate athletes, various pediatric conditions, adults, and geriatrics that relate to upper extremity dysfunction. He is also skilled in advanced splinting for surgical and non-surgical diagnoses. In his spare time, he enjoys playing softball, going to breweries and the beach with his dogs and wife, and making homemade wine with his family.

After an extreme fall and surgery, my doctor recommended occupational therapy. After working with Mike Tolerico, for 7 months, my arm has regained full movement and a significant amount of strength - and continuing to improve! My recovery process would not have been the same without Mike. What is a very painful and slow process was made easier by Mike's hard work and close communication on a weekly basis. I could not recommend Mike more!
