Meet Michelle Gonzalez, PT, DPT Born and raised in Miami, Michelle Gonzalez, PT, DPT, believes movement is one of the best forms of medicine and fortunately for her patients, it's also one of her favorite things in the world. Michelle earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami, but her passion for helping others began much earlier. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her father underwent surgery and came home sooner than expected. Determined to help him regain his strength and independence, she immersed herself in rehabilitation and discovered what would become her calling. Before physical therapy, Michelle actually planned on pursuing a career in art law. But after realizing she'd much rather spend her days talking about movement, strength, and helping people feel their best, she traded museums for the clinic and she's never looked back. Michelle especially enjoys working with orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, oncology, and other complex patients. Her approach is centered around education and empowerment because she believes patients should understand why they're doing something not just be told to do it. Her goal is to help people become as independent and confident as possible while guiding them every step of the way. One of her favorite parts of being a physical therapist is having the privilege of watching patients progress over time and celebrating the victories big and small along the way. Outside the clinic, you'll probably find Michelle lifting weights, reading a good book, or convincing herself she'll finally get back into painting someday. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutritionist, combining her love of strength and wellness to help patients live healthier, stronger lives. As a lifelong Miamian, Michelle is excited to serve the community she proudly calls home and promises not to judge your squat form… unless you ask.
