“I’ve been training for the NYC Marathon and Dr. Gapud (Dr. G) has been a huge help in keeping me injury-free. I injured my ankle years ago and it still flares up on long runs. She specializes in ankle injuries and clinical Pilates, and her work has made a real difference in preventing those flare-ups. Knowledgeable, effective, and actually fun to see. Highly recommend!”

About Dr. Monica Gapud

Dr. Monica Gapud — known around the clinic as "Dr. G" — is a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Tribeca Physical Therapy, Lower Manhattan's concierge-style practice where every session is one-on-one with your therapist for up to 60 minutes. No aides. No divided attention. Just you and your doctor, working toward what matters to you. If you've done physical therapy before, you may know the other version: twenty rushed minutes, a printed sheet of exercises, a different face at every visit. Dr. Monica's patients come to her because they want something different — and because chronic pain, weakness, limited mobility, or balance issues have started costing them the things they love. Morning runs along the Hudson. Keeping up with the kids. Getting through a workday without thinking about your body. Dr. Monica has particular expertise in foot and ankle conditions — plantar fasciitis, ankle sprains, Achilles injuries — and is trained in advanced modalities including SoftWave shockwave therapy, which she incorporates when clinically appropriate. Every plan starts with truly listening: your condition, your goals, and what "better" actually looks like in your life. From there, she builds care around you — hands-on treatment, targeted rehabilitation, and practical guidance on movement, lifestyle, and at-home care, supported between visits through the practice's app. Her care doesn't stop at the treatment table. Dr. Monica coordinates with your physicians and specialists, answers your questions along the way, and stays with you through every phase of recovery — from getting out of pain to building the strength that keeps you there. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Azusa Pacific University, and continues advanced training to stay at the forefront of her field. Because every session is one-on-one, Dr. Monica's schedule is limited by design. If you're ready for care built entirely around you, book your

I had great session with Dr. G at Tribeca Physical Therapy. I was suffering low back pain and wasn’t able to squat and very difficult to pick up objects from the floor. Dr. G did manual therapy with me, massage, shockwave therapy, and gave me exercises I can do by myself. After the sessions, I now feel much better and am able to move with less pain. Highly recommend Tribeca Physical Therapy to anyone with low back issues.
