About Dr. Nicoleta Monica Saliu
Dr. Monica Saliu brings 25 years of clinical experience across two continents to Tribeca Physical Therapy, where every session is one-on-one with your physical therapist for up to 60 minutes, private, unhurried, and entirely yours.
Her deepest specialty is pelvic health. Dr. Monica's training spans prenatal and postpartum care, pelvic pain, and, rare even among pelvic specialists, dedicated coaching and counseling in pelvic health and sexuality. If pain or dysfunction has reached into the most personal parts of your life, and you've struggled to find a clinician comfortable even discussing it, Dr. Monica offers something uncommon: real expertise without awkwardness, in a private room, at your pace.
Her path began on the volleyball court in her native Romania, where competitive play taught her what disciplined training builds, and what injury takes away. That athlete's perspective still shapes her care: certified in Stott and Balanced Body Pilates and trained in Foundation Training and kinesiotaping, she weaves precise, therapeutic movement into everyday treatment.
For Lower Manhattan's desk-bound professionals, she also offers formal office ergonomic evaluation, because neck, back, and wrist pain so often starts at the workstation, and real progress means addressing the cause, not just the symptom.
Dr. Monica earned her degree in Kinetotherapy from the University of Craiova in 2001, and her pursuit of deeper knowledge brought her to New York, where she completed her graduate degree at Dominican University in 2015. The warmth and community of her hometown of Craiova still shape what patients feel in her treatment room.

Monica was very gentle but thorough. She helped me do stretches that worked on my shoulder and neck and made me feel a lot better.

Monica is very nice, professional physical therapist. She helped me a lot on my neck pain, my shoulder pain, lower back pain. Very nice office, waiting time is short, staff are friendly. I will recommend any one I know to see her.
