Hi there, I'm Reese! You are doing the right thing by paying attention to your mental health. I admire you for taking the first step in seeking additional support to better your life. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, mania, psychosis, parenting, professional stress, grief, managing life transitions, marital distress, trauma, and psychosis. I believe in creating a therapeutic partnership in which we will work collaboratively to identify your personal objectives and treatment goals. Therapy is not a “one size fits all” type of service. Treatment will be structured to your unique needs, and I ensure that clients are able to express themselves freely in an emotionally safe and trusting environment. I look forward to hearing from you when you are ready to take the next step in your journey. My approach The type of therapy I provide is called cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). This approach to mental health treatment encourages individuals to identify unhelpful and faulty thought patterns, and we will work together to explore and alter the behaviors, emotions, and physical responses that are often associated with the thoughts. CBT allows individuals to focus on the present moment, and techniques to improve mindfulness are often implemented in therapy as needed. We will discuss your currently used coping mechanisms to manage your discomfort, and we will create an ongoing list of strategies to maximize your confidence and decrease the likelihood of stress, anxiety, sadness, and other emotional challenges. Several of these coping tools we will be discussing and implementing in your therapy include relaxation and grounding techniques (i.e., deep-breathing), assertiveness training, and focusing on enhancing communication skills, problem-solving development using a solution-focused approach, implementing replacement behaviors, etc.
