Dr. Cesar is a provisionally licensed Clinical Psychologist who earned her doctoral degree in Psychology (Psy.D.) from Antioch University New England (AUNE). She is currently working under the supervision of Dr. Natasha Holmes. Dr. Cesar provides individual and group psychotherapy to adults struggling with mood disorders, acculturation issues, racial and general trauma, unstable sense of self, and interpersonal issues. Dr. Cesar’s primary goals include helping people embrace their imperfections and authentically be themselves, which involves creating attunement with one’s life, values, and emotional experiences. Her philosophy of care highlights an individual’s safety and healing, as well as restoring a sense of empowerment and feeling “seen.” Dr. Cesar believes in fostering a collaborative therapeutic alliance that is direct, but open, and always client-centered. Though she primarily employs interventions using a Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT) framework, Dr. Cesar also takes an integrative approach, depending on her clients’ needs, by incorporating tenets of Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dr. Cesar’s main passion is to help eliminate mental health stigmas which are prevalent in Black and BIPOC communities. When she is not rallying on behalf of and centering the voices and experiences of all marginalized folx, Dr. Cesar spends her free time traveling, hiking, kayaking with her twin sister, or consuming true crime novels or documentaries. Also, she loves goats.
