Sean Mintz, MA

Psychologist
CA
Hi there, I'm Sean! I graduated from Monmouth University in 2002 with a MA in Psychological Counseling and from Alliant International University in 2008 with a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology. I have worked as a psychologist for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) since 2008, as an Adjunct Faculty member for Antelope Valley College since 2009, and have provided therapy, consulting, and supervision services for various agencies along the way. I have experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings and currently serve as a suicide prevention specialist for the CDCR. While my primary therapeutic orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I am also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Humanistic Approaches. As a therapist, I specialize in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, substance use disorders, adjustment difficulties, and short-term stabilization. Although I do have training and professional experience with children, adolescents, and senior citizens, as well as couples and families, my specialty is the treatment of adults between the ages of 18-65 in either group or individual therapy. In addition to my work as a therapist, I also have experience in psycho-diagnostic and neuropsychological testing in both medical and forensic contexts. I have co-authored papers and presented posters at the National Academy of Neuropsychology and the International Neuropsychological Society conferences.
