Psychologist
CA
My name is Seth Senecal, a licensed Clinical Psychologist based in San Diego, CA, and I offer remote services throughout the state. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University. I have experience working with older children, adolescents, and adults of all ages, addressing a wide variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, chronic pain, eating disorders, body dysmorphia/dysphoria, concerns with gender and sexual identity, abuse, PTSD, and more. While I primarily work from a Cognitive-Behavioral framework, I draw upon diverse approaches and techniques to help clients learn about, understand, and accept themselves and their challenges. This process supports building on their strengths and developing skills and mindsets to improve their quality of life. My approach I believe one of the most powerful goals is understanding; the more we understand, the more aware we become of our options and personal power. My methods center around this principle. I tailor my approach to each individual's needs and collaborate with clients to develop methods, styles, and goals that feel comfortable and meaningful to them. This can include CBT and related techniques, strengths-based approaches, Motivational Interviewing, Socratic questioning, experiential methods, Acceptance, assertiveness training, Mindfulness, and exploring and challenging core beliefs. I am a firm believer in establishing a strong therapeutic alliance and providing full support and acceptance to help individuals feel safe, heard, and understood.
