Shaya attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. She continued her education at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, earning her Master of Athletic Training (MAT) degree. She then returned to Harding University to serve as the Women's Athletic Trainer and as an athletic training instructor in the Exercise and Sports Sciences Department for six years. During this time, she also earned her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS). She decided to continue her education once more and attended Washington University in St. Louis, where she received her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. While there, she earned her dry needling certification. Shaya was born and raised in Owasso, where she now resides.
