Psychologist
CA
Hi there, I'm Tara! My name is Dr. Tara Ford, and I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with neurodiverse individuals and families in private practice and school settings. I earned my PsyD and Master’s degrees from Alliant International University and my Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine. I am passionate about helping my clients discover and nurture their true, authentic selves to build meaningful relationships. I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in mood disorders, anxiety, and neurodivergent conditions such as Autism and ADHD. My approach My approach varies based on client needs, and I am devoted to meeting them where they are. I typically use a psychodynamic approach for deeper insight-oriented work and a cognitive behavioral approach to help identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. Together, my clients and I develop treatment goals and embark on an enlightening and fulfilling journey. My focus I have found my style and approach fit well for teens and adults interested in exploring and becoming content and happy with who they are. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and issues related to living as a neurodivergent person. My communication style I provide a safe and open space for clients to feel comfortable sharing and processing. I am known for a warm, authentic, and non-judgmental nature that clients use to develop a deeper understanding of themselves. My communication style is warm, personable, and open. My goals for you I believe therapy is a journey of self-discovery. Some clients begin with clear goals, and together we work and adjust as the journey evolves. Others may start with a vague sense of dissatisfaction but no clear understanding of what needs to change to reach a deeper sense of calm and contentment.
