Taylor Seegmiller, LMSW (she/her) obtained a Masters degree from NYU in Social Work. Taylor works psychodynamically emphasizing trauma informed, culturally responsive care.
She works collaboratively with her clients creating a safe space to navigate, unpack and process the intersectional complexities of their lived experience.
As a biracial woman of color, Taylor connects deeply with the HAES movement, as it embodies an anti-oppressive framework with which to meet individuals where they are at. She has a passion for working with individuals who hold marginalized identities including those who identify as BIPOC and LGBTQIA+. Taylor has worked with patients in various eating disorder treatment centers and brings that unique experience to help people work with their body image and disordered eating concerns.
She uses sensitivity, curiosity, and empathy while drawing on various therapeutic modalities including: CBT, DBT, Intuitive Eating and Attachment Theory, when working with clients, with the assertion that individuals can thrive both emotionally and physically when they are in healthy, supportive and affirming relationships first of which start with oneself.

I appreciated Taylor's welcoming energy and the care that she shows for me. I'm very grateful for Taylor's awareness of the different identities that I hold and the ways in which they intersect throughout my day. Taylor is very knowledgeable about the current issues I'm facing, like body image and self-esteem.

I've been seeing Taylor for a couple of months now and I feel as though she really understands me, listens to me, and makes me feel comfortable to share anything that's on my mind or that I'm struggling with, even if it seems silly or embarrassing she always makes me feel validated and heard. I had been struggling to find the right therapist for over a year and literally all I can say is she's perfect!

I’m BIPOC and I’ve tried to do therapy so many times but always with white therapists and it never worked for me. Taylor is the first BIPOC therapist I’ve ever worked with and for the first time I feel safe enough to talk about the complexities of my racial identity in a way that I never have felt comfortable enough to do before.. She is extremely affirming and understanding and holds space for me to process trauma, and different familial issues that I haven’t been able to process with anyone else without making me feel pathologized or stigmatized. she is culturally sensitive and warm but challenges me when I need it. She’s just all around an excellent therapist.

Taylor was really warm and made me feel comfortable. This was my first time in therapy and she explained how it would work and made the process natural and not overwhelming. I am looking forward to continuing my work with Taylor.
