“Terri's friendly demeaner and apt listening skills made her very easy to open up to. This was my first time talking with a therapist so I wasn't necessarily sure what to talk about or how it worked, but she immediately made me feel very comfortable and was good at asking guiding questions. I'd definitely recommend her!”

Getting to know Terri Squires

Licensed Medical Provider in Psychiatry with 20 years of experience practicing in four states and triple boarded in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, and Clinical Psychology. I hold a Master's in Family Nursing from the University of Colorado, a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Vanderbilt University, and a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University. My expertise lies in managing complicated psychopharmacological cases involving multiple medical comorbidities, treating refractory Depression and Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Substance Abuse/Dependence Disorders, addictions of all kinds, Eating Disorders, and ADHD. More importantly, I bring extensive experience in psychotherapy and counseling, utilizing mindfulness strategies and Buddhist Psychology approaches. I also apply theoretical frameworks such as interpersonal process theory, object relations theory, attachment theory, and transactional analysis to support my patients' mental health and well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with people with a Buddhist perspective using mindfulness techniques, meditation and strategies to work with energies of feelings and thoughts and ways to manage these so not to interfere with work, love and/or play. I utilize the newest psychotropic medications when appropriate to negate any adverse effects from the older traditional antidepressants and mood stabilizers usually given; again when appropriate using the newest medications which help many of my patients from experiencing cognitive dulling, emotional numbness, weight gain, sexual side effects along with with no exuberance for life which we want to prevent at all costs! The goal is to feel fully without experiencing any adverse effects.
