โ€œI loved his style for the first session, and after asking him about future sessions, I am excited to see how his style shifts after the initial intake is all completed. The questions he asked were searching and unafraid, which is not always the case in therapy. I know he will push me in ways I am unable to push myself right now.โ€

Getting to know Dr. Tim FoW

๐Ÿ”” PSA: No new couples clients ๐Ÿงญ // APPROACH I integrate cutting-edge neo-contemporary methods, blending holistic, behavioral, psychodynamic, and spiritual psychology principles and frameworks. Your holistic transformation starts now. Clients consistently praise my empathy, perceptiveness, practical guidance, and measurable improvements they experience, with one noting: "Tim is empathetic and encouraging. I'm on session 7 seeing improvements. 10/10." Therapy should feel like a cozy tea-time chat in your living room, creating a safe space where intimacy and authentic connection flourish naturally. I bring a holistic, modern approach rooted in CBT, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care, supporting individuals through dating, marriage, or healing from the past. I tailor my approach to your unique story, helping you find peace, reconnect, and build lasting relationships, whether you're feeling distant, unheard, or weighed down by the past. ๐Ÿ™ // GRACE POLICY Please respect my 15-minute wait policy. Sessions don't always start exactly on time due to back-to-back appointments. More than likely, I will be in the waiting room once you join, in a session, transitioning the prior client with grace, before I prepare for you. As clients can be a few minutes late without issue, practitioners deserve similar grace. ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ // SERVICE & CARE BOUNDARIES I DO NOT provide docs (e.g., notes, signatures) for lawsuits, legal cases, work accommodations, emotional support animals, or leave requests, this includes FMLA, unemployment, lawsuits, etc. If that's a need, i'm not your fit. Furthermore, I don't tolerate any disrespect or intentional and malicious transference towards me in session. I am here to process your bad days and equip you with the perspective, tools, and frameworks to navigate them, not receive the brunt of them. I will abruptly stop a session in which I feel threatened, disrespected, or abused and report the client to Growth Therapy (or law enforcement).

What should a new client know about working with you?

Ideal clients ๐Ÿ”” PSA: No new couples clients. The ideal client I'm best positioned to serve (and whom usually book with me) are Hispanic or African-American women, 21โ€“65. She's done with settling for unfulfilling relationships, embarking on a new life transition, and is ready to put in the work on herself, not keep over-extending to everyone else. Sheโ€™s open to unpacking emotional baggage, embracing discomfort, and seeing love through a new lens. She knows therapy doesnโ€™t end with me, because for her, every day is day one. Often, women attempt to convince their partners to pursue therapy with me, hoping to mend whatโ€™s broken, although I welcome that, I recommend both partners be aligned and ready to show up consistently before choosing me. I won't sell (or convince) you, or your partner, of the value of therapy. That's not my place nor job as a clinician. It is my place to trigger curiosity, spark change, and want a fuller life for you. When you or your partner are ready to show up and do the deeply vulnerable work, know this is the space for you."

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First session During our first session, we'll dive into your motivations for seeking therapy, the issues and symptoms you're battling, and what you want the outcome of your therapy journey together to be. The main intervention I will be utilizing is socratic psychotherapy and trauma-informed care. Youโ€™ll complete a holistic pre-care assessment to provide a measurement-driven baseline of your whole life balance, uncover your focus areas, and help us identify what needs more of your attention and accountability. I may also onboard you to Guide, our post-session engagement tool that supports you in-between sessions with short educational videos. Strengths Hereโ€™s what I bring to the table: deeply integrative socratic inquiry (e.g. who, what, when, where, why, how, which questions), emotional presence, direct reflective listening, and a creative open mind. That's me in a nut-shell. If Iโ€™m not the right therapeutic fit for you, thatโ€™s okay (I'm not everyone's cup of tea ๐Ÿ˜‰): it's your chance to recalibrate and find what works (just honor my humanity in the process, I'm human too, standing with you, not above you). I donโ€™t give advice, I offer perspective. I wonโ€™t tell you what to do, Iโ€™ll candidly highlight your options. I donโ€™t just focus on one part of your life, I see the whole you. With over a decade of experience shaped by training at the University of Texas at Austin, Texas Tech, active continued education, under supervision, and within high performance organizations such as Google, Microsoft, and as an entrepreneur, I help unlock the deeper potential in you, your life, and your relationships. My passion is guiding individuals in transition towards healing, connection, and lasting love, especially within themselves. If youโ€™re ready, letโ€™s begin the next chapter of your story, one filled with clarity, growth, and joy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the providerโ€™s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your planโ€™s benefits.
