About Dr. Tolga Yenilmez
Dr. Tolga Yenilmez received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Boston University after graduating from Istanbul University's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 1996. He is licensed in IL, NY, WI, OR, United Kingdom and has over 25 years of experience working in a broad range of settings and internationally with orthopedic and neurological injuries. He is the owner and clinical supervisor of Bridgewrights Integrative Physical Therapy clinics in downtown and uptown Chicago.
In addition to standard physical therapy procedures, Tolga is trained in Functional Manual Therapy™ courses through Institute of Physical Art, Visceral Mobilization and CranioSacral Therapy. His passion about the psychology of injury led him to get certifications in IFS Therapy (internal family systems) and CPTR (psychedelic therapies and research) from California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.
His treatments involve a hands-on approach to uncover the root cause of symptoms, restore optimum function and resolve pain patterns. He practices a Functional Medicine based holistic approach to disease with an emphasis on mind-body-spirit connections and currently splits his time between Chicago and the West Coast.
“Recovering from injury starts with an awareness of movement patterns that lead to the injury and the mind set that accompanies it. I treat mechanical restrictions of soft tissue and joints via manual therapies, while helping reprogram the nervous system around the injury. I teach the body-mind to actively produce more efficient movement patterns to prevent further injuries as well as resolve current dysfunctions“.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Tolga. After three years of searching for the right physical therapist, I finally found him. In just 20 minutes of our first session, he uncovered more about the root cause of my back pain than I’ve gotten from months with other PTs. He immediately connected it to my office-job lifestyle and started explaining what was going on in a way that actually made sense.
His understanding of the body is next-level—rooted in science but delivered through a truly holistic lens. He doesn’t just diagnose; he teaches. He takes the time to walk you through everything, which made me feel empowered instead of overwhelmed.
On top of that, he’s incredibly kind, intuitive, and sharp. You can feel how much he cares. The office is beautiful and calming, and his bedside manner is unmatched. I’ve only had two sessions so far, but I already trust him more than any provider I’ve seen in years. He’s exactly what I was looking for.

Dr Tolga is incredibly kind, friendly, patient, and a phenomenal listener. The office is beautiful and cozy, unlike any other medical office I have ever been in. He made sure I felt welcomed, comfortable and safe; explained the reasoning behind everything we were doing. Came in with some minor back pain and can already tell after one session that we made solid progress, will continue to see Dr Tolga as long as I am in the Chicagoland area. Highly highly recommend.
