Why do we say the meanest things to the people we love, feel irritable, argue constantly, feel overwhelmed by our emotions and continue to have the same exhausting fights? I help couples and individuals learn ways to effectively manage their emotions and develop the skills necessary to rekindle love and affection, engage better during conversations, and problem solve instead of fighting their way through life. I have a background in couples counseling, individual counseling and trauma informed therapy practices. “I received my M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Nyack College, Alliance Graduate School of Counseling after a combined 18 years in the field of litigation technology and bridal consultancy. I saw a great need for couples counseling services during my years as a bridal designer and consultant and decided I would be more effective in the role of counselor. My role is to help couples and individuals experiencing conflict in their relationships and lives, having difficulty managing their emotions, struggling to identify goals, or feeling like it’s hard to breathe, develop ways to process feelings more effectively, meet their goals and learn how to breathe mindfully with purpose. With a focus on compassion and understanding we work together to develop a customized wellness approach for your individual need. I believe every couple and individual deserves an opportunity to learn and develop skills to help them better engage with themselves and others and have created affordable group therapy options. I believe that if we did not develop relationship and emotion regulation skills growing up, that we can still develop these skills at any time in our lives as long as we are willing to commit and practice.
