Vinita Chandra Mody, Founder of Stroma Physical Therapy and Ischemic Conditioning Techniques™ by Stroma has over 15 years of experience working in Physical Therapy. Vinita earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Canada’s McMaster University, and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Canada’s Queen’s University. From head to toe, she analyzes her patients and puts together a tailored algorithm to fix the problem. Vinita is kind, funny, and specific, some referring to her as a “generalist with great precision”. With several certifications under her belt, which include full body and nerve entrapment certifications in Active Release Technique™, Polestar Pilates and the exclusive Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) through Herman and Wallace, she uses great care combining her extensive experience using her hands and her passion for science and education to provide comprehensive services in the fields of sports rehabilitation, concussion, pediatrics, and Women’s health.
Vinita currently teaches Anatomy at the Swedish Institute of Massage and has guest lectured at a variety of NYC academic institutions. Vinita is also the creator of Ischemic Conditioning Techniques (ICT) which is a full body manual therapy technique that uses blood flow blockage to heal tissues throughout the body. Vinita is currently working towards her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).

Vinita listened to me and asked detailed questions. She also made me feel comfortable during pelvic floor examination, showed a technique how to help me and worked with me around limitations I had for the visit!! Vinita made me feel comfortable. Not only was she knowledgeable and good-humored, but she was obviously empathetic to me and my healing. I came in for treatment for a leg injury and Vinita explained every exercise to me and it’s potential pain level before performing it on me. She checked in with me frequently to assess my comfort. I must say thank God for telemedicine. I injured myself during an intense workout weeks ago and the pain never subsided - little did I know it was a Grade 2 Calf Strain.
Vinita was great reassuring the diagnosis and even going as far to doing a virtual physical therapy appointment with me to relieve my pain and show me techniques to use at home. She’s amazing!

Vinita is a magical, intelligent, caring, and compassionate practitioner. Over the years I have known her she has treated me and relieved immense pain, educated me about physiology and being sensitive to my body, and given me strength and confidence in times of need. Not only is she a master therapist, she is dutifully educating therapists under her wing. One thing I absolutely love about her and her staff is that treatment is always dynamic, never static. I would highly recommend her!!!

Absolutely love Vinita. I've had back problems for 15 years - resulting from a slipped disc and surgery. Nobody has treated it was completely or holistically as Vinita. Her goal is to make sure you're healed enough to never have to come in again. Couldn't recommend her more highly.

Vinita stands out as a practitioner because she treats the whole body, not just the presenting problem. She's the only person who's been able to provide significant and sustained improvement for my SI joint (in my back). And when I mentioned I'd fractured my wrist and had completed a round of PT elsewhere, she did her magic to get the injured wrist to the same range of motion as the other one. Her work is like the icing on the cake--with a cherry on top.

I have various problems and Vinita took notes not only took notes but had asked me to bring a copy of an MRI and my prescriptions so she would have a complete knowledge of my problems. She took a great deal of time assessing my problems and developing a plan to help me. She is terrific.

I can't recommend Vinita highly enough. She's one of the rare medical professionals that isn't satisfied until you leave her office feeling 100% better. And if it takes more than one visit, then she'll think about you and your issues even when you're not around and recommend numerous solutions on your next visit. I always make time to see her and her wonderful staff any time I have any aches, pains or other more serious physical injuries.

Vinita is a breath of fresh air in today's medical world. She's a mix of modern anatomical science and magic. After assessing NY condition, she made time in her schedule to see me for intensive sessions to help me avoid surgery.
