About Dr. Annemarie Athansios
Dr. Annemarie O. Athansios obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, graduating with honors from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Dental Medicine (RSDM). At RSDM, she was selected by the faculty committee for exceptional professionalism and ethics, granting her the ?Professionalism Award.? In addition, she was recognized for her volunteer work by the New Jersey Dental Association and honored with the ?Give Kids a Smile Award.?
Dr. Athansios continued her postgraduate three-year residency training in Periodontics at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where she also earned her Master of Dental Science degree. During her postgraduate tenure, she presented at the Tri-school Symposium, served as chief resident, received a degree from the Institute of Advanced Laser Dentistry, and was awarded the Michael J. Deasy Endowed Scholarship. Dr. Athansios's passion for the field is reflected in her mentorship of many high school and college students who wish to pursue careers in dentistry. She also enjoys going on mission trips with colleagues to provide dental treatment to underprivileged communities in foreign countries such as Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, and Egypt.
