About Dr. Axel Martinez
Dr. Axel Martinez, a Puerto Rican native, earned his Dental degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1996. He pursued further education through an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program with the University Hospital in conjunction with the University of Louisville. Dr. Martinez also expanded his knowledge in implantology by taking various private courses and joining the Intracoastal Study club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which invited esteemed speakers in American Dentistry to keep the South Florida Dental community updated with the latest technology.
As a compassionate professional, Dr. Martinez has worked in rural areas to provide care for those in need, served as a provider for patients with HIV, and assisted soldiers getting ready for deployment during his tenure in the United States Navy, where he earned a medal of achievement within his first year for modernizing their outdated radiography systems.
Dr. Martinez's artistic talents extend beyond his profession, as he is renowned worldwide for his sculptural and contemporary portraiture work. He actively teaches and mentors painters of all levels of expertise at Bold School Inc. His artwork has been featured in local galleries and has won Best in Show for his portraiture and honorable mention for his pottery skills.
Dr. Martinez's inquisitive mind and love for the arts drew him to the practice of dentistry, where he found a niche to showcase his intellectual and artistic abilities. Patients appreciate his gentle touch and chair-side manner, which have been attributed to his success as an associate at Galt Family Dentistry in Fort Lauderdale for four years before opening his own private practice in Wilton Manors. After serving the community for several years, he sold his practice in 2020 to pursue his dream of building a vacation home but continued to provide temporary dental services for dentists on extended leave at Tomalty Dental Group in Boca Raton.
