About Dr. Luke Charms
Dr. Charms grew up on Long Island, then went to Tufts University in Boston to receive his first degrees in psychology and fine art. After relocating to NYC, Dr. Charms earned a masters degree in communications and went on to work as a digital arts professor, a freelance art director, and ultimately an advertising creative director. Unsatisfied by the tone and utility of his work in advertising, Dr. Charms was fortunate enough to facilitate a change of careers. He attended NYU College of Dentistry and was selected to deliver the commencement address for his graduating class.
Dr. Charms was the most productive resident in NYU’s AEGD program sponsored by Lutheran Medical Center, where he specialized in treatment planning for complex cases. Today, Dr. Charms is focused on delivering the best possible care to nervous patients who require especially compassionate attention and treatment.

I was re-booked at Tribeca same-day due to a mix up in hygienist availability. They really took care of me even though I missed a call and a voicemail about it. Seamless rebooking experience and very friendly staff in both locations. My hygienist was so nice and clear with her observations after my cleaning, X-rays took 2 minutes. Surgeons on-site for scheduled consults which is nice to have without moving between facilities. My personalized treatment plan, clear insurance coverage breakdown and claim billing codes were provided to me up front, and added a lot of confidence that they know what I need, what’s optional, and what my plan will cover exactly for each step. I walked away with a follow-up for the options I selected and the other options I saved for later saved in my records and printed out to keep. Thank you!

I have been searching for wuite some time for dental services and so far with Expert Dental my experience has been great. Great service and flexible availability to be seen with pretty quick appointments available rather then waiting months.

Dr. Charms was incredible. It was only upon seeing him that I had realized I have only been seen by Dentists in the past that did not know what they were doing. Dr. charms explained so much to me that I was unaware of. He made me actually enjoy my experience and want to return frequently. He removed plaque that previous dentists were unable to remove. He was swift and quick as well!

The doctor was kind and very understanding of anxiety around visiting the dentist. He was patient and gentle and told me about everything he was going to do before he did it. He was very communicative, and made me feel like I was in charge about when he would start, stop, how much pressure, etc. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered my questions and explained everything. He walked me through many options moving forward. Overall it was the best dentist experience I had.

The best dentist I’ve ever had! After I told Dr Charms that dental visits make me anxious he was very comforting and was careful in how he described my procedure. He asked me what I was comfortable with, and spoke with humor and candor-which really helped! The office is great too. I always knew before appointments how much it would be, they are very transparent in terms of cost. Highly recommend!

This is my first visit with Dr charms and he is awesome! He took the time to listen to me, go over my concerns, educate me, give me his recommendations and other options, and respect my decision in the process.
I have previously felt pressured, coerced and left in the dark by other dentists and physicians, so I really appreciate a dentist like Dr Charms.
I highly recommend him and look forward to having him as my dentist for a very, very long time

Based on years of dental challenges, I generally have a phobia of dental offices. Dr. Charms' office was a significantly better experience than I've grown to expect. The experience was great - from the front desk staff to the hygienist to Dr. Charms. I need a good deal of work done to my teeth and Dr. Charms answered all of my questions (quite thoroughly) and explained all of my options - both the good and the bad. Unlike the last practice I went to, I wasn't pressured into choosing implants (at $4000 a tooth). Five stars all around!

Dr. Charms and his staff was amazing. I checked in with no problems and waited less than 5 minutes to be seen. Dr. Charms was very clear and thorough and gave me tons of tips and suggestions. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was very attentive as well. Love this place!
