About Dr. Aaron Burgess

Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Burgess diagnoses and treats medical and surgical conditions affecting the bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. He specializes in sports medicine and also treats pain resulting from injury, illness, or disabling conditions. Dr. Burgess earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, where he was president of his medical school class. He completed his internship and residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Florida. He gained additional expertise during his fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital, part of the West Penn Hospital Medical Education Consortium. A member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy Association of North America, Dr. Burgess lectures on common injuries and prevention techniques for gymnastics and soccer athletes, as well as operative and non-operative meniscal injuries. He was previously team physician for the Orlando Predators Arena Football team and East River High School football teams in Orlando. Dr. Burgess has medical staff privileges at Allegheny General Hospital, Canonsburg Hospital, and Peters Township Surgery Center. He currently serves as a team physician for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Hampton High School.
