Dr. Abrielle Conway, PsyD

Psychologist
FL
Hi, I'm Dr. Conway, a licensed psychologist with a PsyD in Clinical Psychology and a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Regent University. I completed my internship at Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center and my residency at Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center. I'm passionate about helping you move forward and live the life you want to live. My main specialties are: 1. Perinatal Mental Health – Now that you're pregnant or already have your baby, life will never be the same. With all the joy of having babies, sometimes we overlook the real struggle of coping with hormonal changes, possible health complications, sleepless nights, and the tasks of caring for another human. 2. Women's Reproductive Health – If you've struggled with fertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, or a traumatic childbirth experience, you know the unique pain these bring. Having specialized training and personal experience in these areas, I would be honored to walk with you on this journey. 3. Trauma/PTSD – If you've ever experienced or witnessed a life-threatening event, you know it affects every area of life, including how you feel about yourself, your relationships, your ability to focus, and your sense of safety. 4. Faith-based Counseling – It can be hard finding someone who has specialized training and shares a similar worldview. It can be scary not knowing whether the guidance you receive will align with your values. On the other hand, you may not want a counselor who uses only Scripture to solve problems, as this can feel dismissive, judgmental, and invalidating of your individual experiences. As a Christian psychologist, I am committed to providing a safe space for you and following your lead on how to incorporate your faith and values into therapy. If you relate to any of the above and think my style of therapy may be a good fit, I encourage you to book an appointment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a very collaborative approach to therapy, meaning that we work together in every stage of treatment (including selecting areas you'd like to change and deciding on specific methods of therapy). One of my primary goals as a psychologist is to help you feel safe, heard, and valued. Only once these ingredients are present can we make true progress together. *** Please note that I only accept Aetna commercial insurance at this time. This does not include Medicare or Medicaid Aetna plans. If I am not in network with your specific insurance plan, I can accept self-pay or provide a superbill for Out-of-Network benefits. Please do not book an appointment if you don't plan to use one of the options listed above.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Generally, my approach includes: 1. Identifying areas for change 2. Setting specific goals 3. Identifying method of treatment (my go-to approaches are CBT, CPT, EMDR, ACT/mindfulness based approaches) 4. Begin building skills in the selected area 5. Build confidence in ability to practice those skills 6. Use skills in everyday life

I currently accept Aetna insurance plans, as well as self-pay. I do NOT accept Medicare or Medicaid plans, even if they're through Aetna. If I do not accept your specific health insurance, you can choose to pay out of pocket for services or I can provide you with a superbill for insurance reimbursement. If using a superbill, this would require you paying me for services up front, submitting a claim to your insurance company, and them reimbursing you directly for services rendered. If you decide to go this route, I recommend that you confirm with your insurance company that they provide out-of-network benefits for their members, and what the reimbursement amount would be.
