About Dr. Abuhuziefa Abubakr
Dr. Abubakr is a highly regarded Board-Certified neurologist with over 40 years’ experience specializing in General Neurology, Epilepsy, and Clinical Neurophysiology. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Khartoum Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Abubakr is a member and fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in the UK and Ireland, as well as a fellow of several neurology societies. He treats patients with neurologic conditions including seizures, chronic headaches, sleep disturbances, neck/back pain, and muscle diseases.
If you do not have any diagnostics done prior to your appointment with Dr. Abubakr (e.g., bloodwork, imaging), your upcoming encounter at Medical Arts Clinics will consist of two visits: an Initial Evaluation (performed by Dr. Abubakr’s Neurology Staff Physician) and a Neurology Consultation (performed by Dr. Abubakr). You will receive a call inquiring about your medical history and, if needed, will be scheduled directly with Dr. Abubakr.
- The Initial Evaluation is usually done by Dr. Abubakr’s Staff Physicians. During this visit, routine office procedures and diagnostic tests may be conducted as needed, such as EKG, vascular and general ultrasound studies, nerve conduction studies (NCS), electroencephalogram (EEG), sleep studies, MRI, and more. This helps create the necessary diagnostics and data for a proper treatment plan. Dr. Abubakr’s state-of-the-art office technology allows most diagnostics to be performed on-site during the first visit, with results typically ready within a week.
- The Neurological Consultation is performed by Dr. Abubakr, who will evaluate all diagnostics and data to create your treatment plan. If needed, depending on your condition, he will provide “STAT” or “Wet” (immediate) readings.
Dr. Abubakr will explain and guide patients toward an appropriate and evidence-based treatment plan.

I would avoid. It was unclean, very disorganized, and unprofessional. Part way through my intake, a doctor barely knocked and waltzed in while I was half nude for an EKG with a tech and then stood there with the door half open while I yelled "Excuse me, could you close the door?" Tech didn't blink or do anything.
