About Dr. Ada Mercado

A native of Puerto Rico, Dr. Mercado is a detail-oriented and mindful cardiologist based in Holly Springs, GA. She received her undergraduate degree from InterAmerican University and attended medical school at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henr?quez Ure?a (UNPHU) Escuela de Medicina in the Dominican Republic. She completed her internal medicine residency at Mayag?ez Medical Center and her cardiovascular disease fellowship at Ponce School of Medicine and Health Sciences and St. Luke's Hospital. Dr. Mercado then completed an echocardiography fellowship at Tulane University and Louisiana State University in New Orleans, LA. She also completed nuclear cardiology training at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Mercado is board certified in cardiovascular disease. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography. Her special interests include general cardiology, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiogram, and nuclear cardiology. She joined WellStar Medical Group, Cardiovascular Medicine in January 2011 from the Atlanta Heart Center, where she was a founding physician in 2002. She is currently on staff at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

I was not taken seriously by this doctor even tho I explained the long history of cardiac problems. Even with an abnormal ECG she down played my symptoms and did not make me feel heard.
