About Dr. Adam Cohan
Adam K. Cohan, MD, is a board-certified obstetrics and gynecology specialist at Westmoreland Obstetrics and Gynecologic Associates, a leader in women’s health for more than two decades with offices on the North Shore of Lake Michigan in Lake Bluff and the Western suburb of Grayslake, Illinois. Dr. Cohan is highly skilled in many OB/GYN treatments, including minimally invasive surgery, such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
Over the years he has gained a reputation in not only his excellence in patient care, but also for his kindness and compassion. This pleasant bedside manner has earned Dr. Cohan numerous accolades, including Compassionate Doctor Recognition and Patients’ Choice Award, for several years running, as well as Top 10 Doctor.
He grew up in Highland Park, Illinois, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Cohan earned a medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, graduating once again with honors. He continued his clinical training at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in suburban Chicago where he completed a residency, graduating with honors. When Dr. Cohan isn’t helping his patients at Westmoreland Obstetrics and Gynecologic Associates, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.

Amazing, one of the best doctor visits I've ever had. I typically avoid the doctor due to how difficult and cumbersome it is to get an appointment, but this was a really great visit. The doctor was wonderful and incredibly kind and gentle. Highly recommend him and I will actually be going to the doctor more frequently with him as my provider.

Dr. Cohan was very nice and attentive. When I voiced my concerns to him he was a very good listener. He gave me a few recommendations for my concerns and went into detail, that was easily understood, with the different options and routes I can take and pointed me in the right direction. This was the most enjoyable and comfortable OBGyn appointment I’ve ever had. I was also in and out pretty quickly without the feeling of being rushed or unheard like I’ve experienced with other doctors in the past. I’m very happy with Dr. Cohan and will happily return when needed.

My first visit due to my doc retiring. I saw a few reviews elsewhere about the staff not being up to par, but I had no issues. (I have left practices in the past since these are the people you deal with most of the time). I was given enough time to ask questions and didn't feel rushed. Dr Cohan also set some expectations and possible options for pending testing and test results.

Dr. Adam Cohan's care is above and beyond. His top-notch medical knowledge, combined with his compassionate and understanding demeanor make him a highly sought after care provider. I have been a patient at Westmoreland for 23 years. I've even continued to make the trip back to see Dr. Cohan after moving out of state. In my experience, there is no better ob/gyn.
