“I’m new to wearing glasses, and this doctor listened when I said my current prescription was causing me nausea and eyestrain and let me try out a few different prescriptions to make sure I was comfortable walking around instead of just telling me I would get used to it like my previous doctor. Very kind and patient.
Sales people at the front of the office were a little pushy about trying to get me to buy new glasses with them instead of somewhere cheaper but I don’t blame the doctor for that.”

About Dr. Afsana Amir
Dr. Afsana Amir grew up in Brooklyn, NY and completed her undergraduate degree from CUNY Hunter College where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience. She went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry Degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University with an Advanced Studies certification in Binocular Vision and Vision Therapy.
Dr. Amir completed her clinical training in primary eye care, pediatrics, ocular disease and specialty contact lenses at the Eye Institute in Elkins Park, PA and at the Global Vision Rehabilitation Center in Miami, FL.
She is passionate about her work with children and community outreach.
In addition to primary eye care, Dr. Amir specializes in myopia progression and specialty contact lenses such as orthokeratology and scleral lenses. She enjoys serving the diverse community here in South Brooklyn and looks forward to meeting you!

Very friendly and warm staff. Facilities were clean and bright. It was a bit busy so there was a bit of a wait, but when I did see the doctor my concerns about my vision were taken seriously. I did not feel rushed through my appointment and tests were smooth and thorough to address all my concerns. Doctor made sure to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand and answer any questions I had. Breakdown in price and options for new glasses were clear and easy to follow. I feel comfortable and confident leaving my vision health and care in their hands.
