He is very smart and easy to talk to. I think what I liked the most is the welcoming experience, from the receptionist to the lab technician, each one of them made me feel welcomed and important.

This was the oddest experience I have ever had with a PCP. First, I made my appointment for 230, but was called and asked to come in earlier. Which was fine, but annoying. Come to find out, that was just sothey could go home early. Front desk associate was very polite and I was taken back right away. The doctor introduced me to a student who would be working with him. After a few minutes, he left the office so she could work alone. And this woman was clearly really, really, really new at this. I had to re-spell every medication I was on, even though I had put them on my forms. She also did not understand certain basic medications I was on. For example: Me: I'm on birth control. Her: Which one? Me: I'm not sure, I think it's Avaine or something. Her: Okay. Are you on 400mg? Me: No. It's birth control. Check the spelling? Her: Are you on 250mg? Me: It's birth control, that can't be right. Her: *checks in her phone* Oh, it was spelled wrong. Are you on 1mg? Me:. I'm on whatever is in the pill pack, it's birth control. Her: How often do you take it? Me:. It's the pill pack! Imagine this for every single medication I'm on. And then she just did not get it when I told her I didn't know what ibus my vitamins are. Eventually she just goes and gets the doctor. He comes in having fully expected her to have done a full exam. When he asks her why she hasn't, she says I'm in a hurry. I am not in a hurry! I'm just frustrated! So then the doctor. He is polite, but didn't seem to understand I was in there for a general check-up. I told him I'm changing my diet and exercise to lose weight and because of my experience with an eating disorder, I want to be monitored by a PCP. He then asked if I want to go off my anti depressants and that he could be my psychiatrist if mine doesn't work out. Uh... Okay? Then he tells me he wants me to do blood work and put me on a medication that will decrease my appetite. He wants me to go to my psychiatrist to ensure I can go on this medication because it doesn't react well with the medication I'm on for my eating disorder. He told me to make another appointment to go over my blood work. I told him I had blood work done two months ago pre-surgery but he totally disregarded that. I go to get my blood work in the office and the person there prints out an insurance estimate that was outrageous. He wants me to sign it before he will draw my blood. I told him that it was incorrect and I wouldn't sign it. He told me "fine" and wouldn't draw my blood. Remember, I came in to see a PCP prior to starting a diet and exercise routine. I left utterly blindsided.

I am new to the area and found this Doctor on ZocDoc. When I got to the office there was no one at the front desk. I waited 10 mins before I started saying hello? Finally someone came out. The womenat the front desk was very sweet but I was a little annoyed I waited 10 mins before signing in as I had to get to work. When the Doctor saw me he was frantic about some paperwork he had to get done. He was taking calls on his cell phone during my consultation on top of leaving the room to go eat and then coming back and chewing in my face. I had blood taken so I had to go back to get my results where I waited an hour. When I was seen the doctor didn't remember me and was asking who I was and why I was there even though I saw him last week. He didn't even look at the results before I came in but start to look over them while I was in the room. He rushed through the paper work and sent me on my way. I found out I needed B12 shots from the blood test and he said he sent in the prescription. When I went to pick it up the pharmacy didn't have anything. What pushed me over the line and made me want to write an review was today when I got a call from their office saying the Doctor has my blood results and wants to go over them with me, when I went a week ago!!! Super unorganized, messy, frantic office. I do not recommend.

Dr. Heshmat clearly loves his job, and is very friendly. He truly cares about getting to the root cause of the problem and makes sure you get all questions answered. The only problem with my appointment is that he has NPstudents working for him that significantly extended the time of my appointment. My appointment took nearly 2 hours (this did include lab work, but the lab work only took about 15 minutes).
