Akash Ferdaus is a friendly and compassionate internist and geriatrician caring for the Brooklyn, NY community. Dr. Ferdaus obtained his medical degree from Sylhet M.A.G. Osmani Medical College. He also completed his residency in internal medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Ferdaus then completed his geriatric medicine fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Ferdaus is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Geriatrics Society, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and the Bangladesh Medical Association of North America. He speaks English, Hindi, Urdu, and Bengali fluently, which makes him widely accessible to patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Dr. Ferdaus acquired first position at Bronx County Medical Society Annual poster competition in NY 2013 and was a finalist in poster presentation at the American Thoracic Society International Conferences in CA 2012. He enjoys giving back to his community and has participated in many volunteer activities, including as an executive member of the Bangladesh Medical Association of North America, NY and is an active member of Sandhani International, Bangladesh.
Dr. Ferdaus is sensitive to the uniqueness of each patient's situation and adapts his consultations and treatment options appropriately to accommodate individual needs and concerns. During his consultations, he fully explains patients’ conditions and helps them choose an appropriate treatment plan.
