“Finding culturally competent healthcare has always been challenging for my mom and I. That changed when we started seeing Dr. AK at the diversity clinic. As a French-speaking African woman herself, Dr. AK immediately understood our background and conversed directly with my mom in French. This relieved the burden of me having to interpret at appointments. Dr. AK took it upon herself to ensure my mom understood follow-up care. For me, although fluent in English, having a doctor who intrinsically understands my culture is meaningful. I don’t have to explain myself to Dr. AK which is refreshing. Her warmth and cultural fluency made me feel seen. For French-speaking women seeking culturally sensitive care and representation, I recommend Dr. AK.”

I was really impressed with her listening skills, as she had me to go over some things I mentioned.
I forgot the nurse’s name for the clinic, but she is very knowledgeable, patient and very courteous.
