Dr. Alan Larsen, OD

Optometrist
2705 Sherwood Way, San Angelo, TX
Undergraduate Education: Brigham Young University B.S. degree in Microbiology. Optometry School: University of Houston College of Optometry 1988. Professional Achievements and Associations: Texas Optometric Association; American Optometric Association. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Specializing in Children’s Vision and Contact Lenses. The reason I became an optometrist is: I was in my 3rd year at BYU majoring in Microbiology and my sister married an Optometrist. After seeing how he was able to immediately impact people’s vision and change their lives, I decided that Optometry was the profession for me. My favorite part of helping my patients is: 80% of perception comes from vision. Being able to play a part in helping individuals improve their vision and knowing that will help improve their lives makes me extremely satisfied. On the short side, there is nothing like holding up a new prescription in front of a patient during an eye exam and having them get totally excited about the improvement in their vision. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling and Gardening but particularly Grandchildren and Skiing.
