Getting to know Dr. Alexius Babb

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced training in health psychology and integrated care. I specialize in working with adults managing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, and stress, particularly when these concerns are connected to physical health challenges. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in evidence-based care. I use treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brief CBT for Chronic Pain, Problem-Solving Therapy, and emotion-focused strategies adapted for primary care settings. With over a decade of experience across medical and mental health systems, I partner with individuals to build resilience, improve functioning, and support progress toward their goals. Whether it’s adjusting to a new diagnosis, recovering from trauma, or finding balance in daily life, my goal is to make therapy practical, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s journey toward wellness.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients working with me can expect a compassionate, collaborative, and practical approach to therapy. I view mental health as part of a larger journey toward wellness. My style is warm, direct, and grounded in respect for your unique experiences, values, and goals. Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic health issues, or stress, I’ll meet you where you are with empathy, clarity, and care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is collaborative, goal-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based care. In our first few sessions, I take time to understand your current concerns, history, and goals. This may involve a structured clinical interview and validated screening tools to inform diagnosis and treatment planning. I provide clear feedback and work with you to develop a personalized plan rooted in brief, practical interventions. Sessions typically involve talk therapy that’s solution-focused and designed to help you manage symptoms, build resilience, and navigate life’s challenges more effectively. Depending on your needs, I may integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brief CBT for Chronic Pain, Problem-Solving Therapy, or emotion-focused strategies that are particularly helpful for individuals managing chronic illness, stress, or trauma. Therapy with me is a space for clarity, support, and meaningful progress one step at a time.
