I am an Ivy League trained Psychiatrist with 20 years of clinical experience. Unlike most Psychiatrists, medication management is not my sole treatment approach. I do therapy with almost all of my clients.
I believe most people benefit from observing the ways in which their coping strategies may be falling short or the unseen ways they may be undermining their own success. Working with a Psychiatrist should be motivating, comforting, empowering and interesting.
After graduating from Univ of Pennsylvania I attended medical School at Cornell and Psychiatric Residency at UCLA- Harbor. I utilize a structured approach in which we set goals and learn skills that will help you get back to the place you want to be quickly.
Most of my patients are successful, educated, highly motivated people who suffer from Depression, Anxiety, Sleep Problems, Marital Issues, Sexual Issues, ADHD, OCD, Substance abuse problems, or issues relating to work/life balance. I have extensive experience with the demands of corporate careers as well as the challenge of balancing career growth, personal growth and family time.
I have worked extensively with Ground Zero rescue workers and volunteers and am an expert in helping people cope with and overcome substantial life challenges. I am the author of a book called "Back To Life: Getting Past Your Past with Resilience, Strength and Optimism" and have appeared on CNN, Anderson Cooper, Dr Salzer Oz and many other TV and radio shows as an expert in my field.

She didn't take my insurance so I was concerned about the cost. However, if you can handle it -- well worth the money.
I am sad I can't see her anymore because of my insurance change but I recommended a good friend to her already! She is fantastic
Alicia is always very helpful and effective. Truly cares.
I think she is amazing so far!
Wow, one of the worst Dr's I have ever seen. Made me scared for my safety when I left and a week after.
Great first impression. Responsible, Thorough, Thoughtful, Direct & Caring. Left feeling like I was in good hands and I've found a good co-pilot with a clear road map.
She just got it right away
Exceptional care. If you have an insurance plan that she is in-network with, you have found your doctor. Without insurance - her out-of-pocket costs are high but in-line with costs throughout the city. I pay her full fee without hesitation.
Great practical advice. Good listener.
The only downside of her practice is how far ahead of time her appointments are booked up, and that my particular insurance means a more limited window to schedule.
Need more time. 30 mins is not enough !! Went well today. May have rated higher but I am new to her as a patient and I don't know if I would recommend yet. Don't see why I wouldn't though. After 2 visits, I feel as though j want more out of my sessions with her.
She was warm and approachable, and helped me begin to map out a very balanced and reasonable plan of treatment. So far, so good!
I have been seeing Dr. Salzer for two or three years. I have seen a lot of therapists in the past 14 years, and she has been one of my favorites. She is attentive and receptive, but also participates in the sessions and offers valuable feedback and insights. She's a very friendly and calming presence, without coming off as not genuine or fake. I appreciate that she contributes her own background, education, interests, and experiences, rather than completely removing her own identity from her treatment.
Dr Salzer is a very astute physician with a no nonsense approach. She has helped me appreciably and I know I am in good hands.
She was very responsive and gave such good advice. She knew exactly what I needed to hear and what I wanted to say but had a hard time saying. Dr. Salzer was very helpful and I felt so much better after speaking with her!
In-network psychiatrists are surprisingly difficult to find, but Dr. Salzer helped me make sure that all my ducks were in a row a week before the session. The appointment itself was helpful and will lead to future sessions.
Dr. Salzer helped me through my issues with precision. I felt so much better after 6 visits, I have had all issues go away and have been fine for a whole year without future visits; although will be planning a follow up soon. I was weary of searching for a Dr who would actually listen and care and she took care of that worry. She even allows you to text her if you having issues during your day. Seriously, go to her search is over
She is really good .. I would recommend her to anyone who is concerned about their health and don't know which doctor to trust with medication. She is just the right person to make you aware of all the facts and concequences or side effect of any medicine or action in your life.
She is very thorough and keen on making sure you are getting the best treatment possible.
She is highly professional and very committed to a through diagnosis and the best treatment. I was impressed with the time she took to listen and understand .
Dr. Salzer is extremely considerate, straight-forward, and helpful. She provided me with excellent support and practical techniques for coping with my problems. I highly, highly recommend her. She is worth her cost and more. Thank you.
Dr. Alicia Salzer is the best. I feel extremely lucky to have met her. She is professional, compassionate, and caring.
Dr. Salzer is very good and I'd recommend her highly.
Good doctor, but a bit of a crook.
She was thorough and professional. She talks to you the way that you believe that she will get you out of this condition, which was very important to me at that time. I started with her, but because of financial situation changed the doctor. That start defined my treatment, and eventually, I cured.
Very warm and professional
Amazing with meds management and psychotherapy sessions. Highly recommend!
