About Dr. Allen Beede
I am a native of San Jose, born in Mountain View and raised in San Jose. I attended Saint Mary's College of California, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree with honors, and graduated from Marshall B. Ketchum University with a Doctor of Optometry. My experiences range from working at a Veteran's hospital, U.S. Military base, and several community clinics. I have worked side by side with eye surgeons at Stanford to co-manage laser refractive surgeries and treat eye diseases. I have the prestigious honor of being a National Board Examiner for Optometry since 2003, participating in determining whether potential optometrists have adequate clinical skills for national and state licensure. I have been a member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association since 1995, the Santa Clara Optometric Society since 1999, and the National Board Examiners of Optometry since 2003.

There was a clear lack of transparency regarding the costs associated with each service offered. At no point was I informed about their pricing, leaving me completely in the dark about the financial aspects of my visit. This omission of crucial information was just the beginning of a series of oversights.
After my eye exam, I was not provided with any documentation or prescription, which is a basic expectation from such a service. This oversight necessitated a return visit to their office . It's bewildering that such essential information was not automatically provided, demonstrating a serious lapse in their standard of care.
The communication issues did not end there. I ordered lenses with the expectation that they would be ready for pick-up by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. However, Wednesday came and went without any update from them regarding the status of my order.
A complete lack of professionalism and a failure in communication on their part.

Could not be happier that I’ve found Dr Beede and his team! Through 2 bad experiences with a previous provider I decided to try out a new optometrist. I am came to Dr Beede because I was having issues focusing. I thought I needed a higher power prescription. To my surprise, I had been wearing the wrong power for almost 10 years. After a thorough examination, Dr Beede ordered two diagnostics contacts lenses for me to try. I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW. Friendly staff and they have the latest tech.

Very concise and efficient with the time. Everyone including the doctor followed up directly after the previous assistant was done getting my info, running tests, asking relevant questions, etc. The woman who helped me choose my glasses at the end was very kind and extremely patient with me. I am very pleased with their respect for my time and overall efficiency.

This optometrist office is spectacular 10/10. My boyfriend and I went in for our appointments, and the receptionist got us in right away. All the staff, from the assistant, the doctor, and the glasses seller, were super helpful and answered all our questions. The eye exam was quick and easy, and Dr. Beede recommended my boyfriend for a good set of new glasses. He said I didn’t need glasses but I can get them if I wanted to (of course I did! My insurance covered free frames!). All the frames were super stylist and cute, up to date with today’s trends. I’m 25, so I care about that stuff. We will pick up our glasses in two weeks, and I’m sure they will be perfect. If not, they said we have a one year warranty.
We are definitely sticking to this optometrist.

Dr. Beede was amazing! I will always be returning here now.
I came in for my annual eye check up, and he took the time to educate me on the details of an eye condition I have that no other provider has mentioned to me before. He told me I should always be equipped with this information so that I can avoid misdiagnoses in the future, regardless of which provider I see. I really appreciate how he took the time to inform and educate me on my eye health in an approachable and friendly way. He answered all my questions thoroughly and I never felt rushed.
