As a Regular Army veteran with three years of service, I've faced many challenges that have shaped my understanding of the difficulties my clients experience. One of my biggest personal triumphs was overcoming an addiction to alcohol 42 years ago. Life has also brought me through divorces, marriages, estrangement, and reconciliation with my children. I've seen the highs and lows of running successful businesses and facing failures. At the age of 50, I returned to college and earned my doctorate seven years later, a testament to my persistence and dedication. I'm also a 10-year cancer survivor and have undergone four major operations. My motto is 'Never give up!' In my professional journey, I've practiced as a solo practitioner providing individual and group psychotherapy. I've conducted forensic examinations for the courts, performing evaluations for pre-trial defendants, and have conducted thousands of disability exams. For nine years, I served as the psychologist at a maximum-security prison in Missouri, treating men with severe anger, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and personality disorders. It was stressful but incredibly rewarding work. I specialize in social anxiety, addiction, anger management, generalized anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief/bereavement, life transitions, military/veteran support, phobias, sleep disorders, spirituality, stress, and trauma.
