Dr. Amanda Large, PsyD

Psychologist
1516 N 5th St, Unit 401, Philadelphia, PA
I look at therapy as a journey that the client and clinician take together, often walking through the darkness side by side. As a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania with a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, I work alongside my clients to help them move forward, achieve their goals, and live their best possible lives. It is very important to me to provide a space that feels safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive, as this foundation allows me to work effectively with my clients. While I view most problems through a cognitive-behavioral lens, I take a humanistic and person-centered approach to treatment. This means I emphasize the interaction between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, integrating techniques from various therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Relapse Prevention. I tailor treatment to each individual so therapy can be whatever each person wants or needs it to be. I have also earned a Master's in Clinical Psychology and a Master's in Counseling and Clinical Health Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I have worked with adults with co-occurring disorders in a variety of settings, including inpatient, residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient programs. I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds, with a variety of presenting problems and varying levels of co-occurring interaction.
