Then always checked in throughout the pap and let me know what was happening next. I had to wait a little over an hour to get seen and not sure why but the wait ended up being worth it! About Dr. Amelia Blissett
Dr. Amelia Blissett is a board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care with a strong emphasis on health equity and advocacy for underserved communities. She brings a wealth of clinical experience and a lifelong commitment to improving outcomes in Women’s Health.
Dr. Blissett earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine after graduating Summa Cum Laude from York College, where she received the prestigious Jonas Salk Fellowship for her biomedical research. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, where she was honored as Chief Resident and received multiple awards for her leadership and clinical excellence.
Dr. Blissett has served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and as Clerkship Director, where she mentored medical students and helped shape the next generation of physician advocates.
Dr. Blissett is deeply committed to improving maternal health outcomes, with a focus on at-risk pregnancies and eliminating disparities in care for BIPOC communities. Additionally, her passion for person-centered obstetric care has earned both national and international recognition, particularly for her work in Family-Centered Cesarean Birth practices, including a Top Poster Award at the Planetree International Conference.

Dr. Blissett is an amazing doctor who I would recommend to any of my friends and family. As a first time pregnant mother-to-be, I came to Dr. Blissett at the end of my second trimester because of problems with the original practice I planned to use for prenatal care and delivery. Dr. Blissett made sure to thoroughly review my medical history and information so that the transition would be seamless. She cared about me enough to schedule frequent appointments so that we can develop a relationship and I will be comfortable with my care team after having a bad experience prior. She has treated me with kindness and answered all of my questions without making me feel like they were a burden. She is straight forward, honest, and realistic while still being caring. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Blissett and am thrilled to be her patient.

Upon arrival, the front desk receptionist was rude and did not welcome patients. Extremely long and dreadful experience. Spent over 2 hours in the office and had to leave with half of my appointment complete. Would not recommend if you are looking for a smooth and timely experience.

My first appointment with Dr Blissett was a very long wait, but her bedside manner and her pleasant calm demeanor made the wait worthy.
During the long wait I had declared that I would not return, but she caused me to change my Mind. What I will do differently is to book the first or last appointment next time.
I like and appreciate her skills and mannerisms. I like how she explained each and every move she made with me. Yep, she’s a keeper!!!??

Great experience with Dr Blissett. She was extremely professional, thorough, and took the time to make sure all my concerns were addressed. My only downside to my visit was the front desk staff. I found them to be a bit off putting and not welcoming. It didn’t get the same warm impression as the DR herself did. Overall, I would highly recommend!

Dr. Blissett is thorough, knowledgeable, patient and kind. All the qualities you need in a GYN. When I first walked in the office I was skeptical but Dr. Blissett and her nurse Heather put all my fears to rest. I wish there were more doctors who cared about their patients holistically. As long as she is a doctor, she has me as a patient.
