Although the receptionists seemed a bit cold in personality they were very professional and made my process of checking in smooth and simple. The doctor was very knowledgable in this field. I was very happy to know that the facility had the proper machinery to examine my ovaries in the office - preventing me from having to make another appointment elsewhere.
All staff were kind and quick to assist. The only thing I would mention is that as a patient you can hear some things the doctor is discussion with other patients in adjacent room, which may be off-putting for some.
It was very short and she was a bit distant but she prescribed me the birth control I was looking for.
I love Dr Shawn! He has been my doctor for 5+ years. Very professional and informative! However, I just wish a specific person at the front desk could get her attitude in check. Very disgusting attitude!
Dr. Solomon and her team are great! I like that she took time to explain things. She asks questions and she actually listens.
Amazing doctor. She’s very understanding!!!! And the appointment is always quick. There’s no wait at the office.
Excellent bedside manner. I have anxiety and doctors visits give me severe anxiety. She was very understanding and calming.
I am really satisfied on how my appointment went. Had a 2:30pm appointment and was seen at 2:20pm. I understood everything you talked about very informative he was. Great Staff he has.
Honestly, he's the best. I'm glad I'm decided to go to him because he's very professional and the other staff too. They made me feel comfortable and he asked me a lot of questions that I didn't even think to ask. I didn't feel rushed like how I felt with my old OB-GYN. When you go to a ob-gyn you always want to feel welcomed and that's exactly how I felt. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Yodfat was very nice and addressed my concerns as a first-time mom to be. The pap-smear was not more uncomfortable than usual. The clinic staff was very nice, the sonogram technician was friendly and congratulatory, the nurse was quick and matter of factly, and the phlebotomist didn't hurt me at all! Over all, I definitely recommend the Boro Park OBGYN.
Dr. Goncharov was an absolutely amazing doctor. He is kind, warm, and knowledgable. He was great about informing me of any honest concerns he had, without causing me additional stress, by explaining exactly what his plan was to take care of the issue. He explained things in a manner that was clear, answered any questions I had, and during delivery created a joyful atmosphere to bring our baby into the world. My husband and I are planning to have our second baby after we move to California, and I am devastated that Dr. Goncharov will not be my doctor, but feel truly blessed to have been in his care for our first baby.
Obstetrician-gynecologists (OB-GYNs) provide preventive care to women. They have specialized training in diagnosing, managing and treating conditions affecting the female reproductive system. Their expertise in this field distinguishes them from general physicians and makes them primary care doctors for women. Obstetrics and gynecology, on their own, are two different medical specialties: Gynecology mainly focuses on the well-being of reproductive organs—the ovaries, vagina, uterus, etc., while obstetrics deals with pregnancy and childbirth. An OB-GYN is a doctor who is trained in both obstetrics and gynecology. Common reasons to visit an obstetrician-gynecologist are unusual vaginal discharge or bleeding, STD or STI screenings, cancer, and sexual dysfunction, to name a few. Women also visit obstetrician-gynecologists for infertility problems, menopause, pregnancy, family planning, PCOS, hysterectomy and postpartum care.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends that all women have annual visits with their OB-GYNs. An annual visit generally consists of a general exam (BMI, weight, height and blood pressure checks), a pelvic exam and a breast exam. Apart from this, immunization and screenings can also be conducted during this visit. The need for screenings depends on a woman’s age, family history and lifestyle. Three of the main screenings carried out by an OB-GYN are:
It is best-advised to visit a doctor annually, even if you don’t have an existing condition or symptoms. It is a preventive measure to keep your health on track.
OB-GYN visits for teens
According to The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a girl’s first OB-GYN visit should be between the age of 13 and 15. This visit focuses on providing them with reproductive health guidance and preventive health services. Typically, it does not include a pelvic exam, unless the doctor deems it necessary. This visit can also prove to be a great platform for teenage girls to discuss different aspects of sexuality and learn about the risks of sexually transmitted infections and diseases. The doctor aims at providing information on bodily changes and guidance around other gynecologic health topics.
