About Dr. Amie Shimmel Handa

Dr. Amie Shimmel Handa: Board Certified Acupuncturist and Chiropractic Physician with 33 years of practice. Dr. Shimmel earned her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from the National University of Health Sciences and holds a Master's Degree with high honors in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. She is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture since 1989 and completed an Advanced Acupuncture certification course at Lincoln College. Additionally, she earned her Bachelor's degree from Wagner College. She loves people and truly cares! Through her own struggles with a serious chronic illness, she knows firsthand the pain and suffering patients endure. She understands how to take a health problem and turn it around for vitality and well-being. Her vision for patients: All of us have miracles inside ourselves, and it's never too late to have the ideal health you have always wanted. She uses her intuitive guidance-“Dr. Amie thinks out of the box.” Dr. Shimmel's goal in life has always been helping people with their health. Why? Because she loves people, she has studied the body, and she knows what works and what doesn't. She knows how to turn around someone's health so they can feel like their true self again. Nothing is more important to her than helping people achieve their ideal health. That's what gets her out of bed in the morning. She loves it! Her motto: “Change your energy, change your life.
