“Dr. Tamayo was very professional and helpful. Her staff, however, is not. I needed a procedure and they told me they put me on the surgery schedule and it would be in June, 2021. The middle of June, I visited and was told, we talked to you in January, you said you were going to another doctor. NOOOOOOOOOOOO. I said I would wait for Dr. Tamayo. So I've been waiting eight months for nothing!!! Now, I have to find another doctor, another ultrasound and all of this could've been taken care of already if it weren't for someone's incompetence.”

About Dr. Ana Tamayo
Dr. Ana M. Tamayo has 40 years of experience in Gynecology and Gynecologic surgery. She completed her medical education at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos Facultad de Medicina San Fernando, followed by an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sinai-Grace Hospital. Her practice includes Preventive Gynecologic Care (Annual Gynecologic Exams), Family Planning, consultations for a variety of female health issues, and second opinions for Gynecologic surgeries. She performs office procedures such as Colposcopy and Biopsies, IUD insertions, cryosurgery, to name a few, as well as infertility treatments. The woman at the front desk, Ruby, is extremely rude. Prepare to have her insult you, your insurance provider, and make fun of your sickness. Also prepare to have her call you names just because you had not yet received a bill in the mail. Ruby is extremely unprofessional and I will never visit this office again. I do not feel comfortable with this kind of staff (Ruby at the front desk) having access to my medical records, either.

I have been seeing Dr Tamayo since I was in college. I still drive more than an hour to see her. I cannot say enough about my level of trust I have in her. I can’t imagine seeing someone else after so many years. She’s great and worth the yearly drive.

The visit went well! I originally came in 15 min early to get checked in, and there was a paper sign on the door saying when they’d be back, a little weird, plus they came 10 min later than they said they would. The exam was really quick, and she described everything thoroughly!

Dr. Tamayo was polite and pleasant. He seems knowledgeable. However, I noticed she was a little judgmental by her expressions and I got little advises. I usually have a friendly conversation with the doctors and they educate you about what you should or you shouldn't do.

This has been by far the WORST doctor patient interaction I've ever experienced!!
The wait time was an hour and 45 minutes. I was skipped by 5 women. I was later told it was because they had to contact my insurance. It would have been nice knowing before I was made to wait so long.
I went in because I found what I think is a wart and a yeast infection monistat couldn't get rid of. While she was down there, she became annoyed very quick because she couldn't find said wart. I kept insisting but all she said was something along the lines of "I know what a wart looks like. I see them all day everyday. So theres no wart." That's not very reassuring.
This woman was quick to dismiss me and all my questions; which none were answered by the way. She was very judgmental and was more concerned with my weight than my sexual anatomy or history. She didn't ask if I'm sexualy active or how many sexual partners I've had in the last year. She didn't even bother doing a breast exam. All things that are a normal part of an obgyn/pap smear visit.
She eventually left the room. After putting my pants back on, I remembered that I have a picture of it I took 2 days earlier!! So I asked the receptionist to see her again. She seemed a little uneasy about the idea but asked me to wait in the waiting room. Less than 5 minutes later, the lady who took my blood pressure calls me back and tells me the same thing I was told by Ana Tamayo. That I don't have any warts. Okaaay. But how the heck would she know? She didn't look at my vagina! Ana Tamayo only spoke to me again because I went up to her when saw her in the hall. She kept repeating herself, every time getting louder, "You don't have wart. I don't know what you have". Even after I showed her the picture!! She didn't want to take another look at me and was so desperate to just get me out of her office. She was rude, unprofessional, judgmental and uneducated. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone! ESPECIALLY if you have any questions even remotely related to your health...oh and my yeast infection? She didn't even bother with a prescription.

Dr. Tamayo was AMAZING!!! She's kind, she's caring. She even help me relax when I was having an anxiety attack. I'm actually looking forward to my next visit with her. Lisa was a tad bit off putting (kind of scared me) but she just seemed overwhelmed. She's does her job and she does it well. The woman who took my blood pressure and weight also helped me through my anxiety attack as well. I enjoyed this visit 100%. And would highly recommend Dr. Ana Tamayo.

Doctor is very kind, however I did not feel like she was hearing me when I was speaking to her. The office was very chaotic and loud (people in and out of the main door, on cell phones, no HIPPA privacy, no past medical records in my file, they did not know what I was in the office for). The did seem too busy and ill-prepared for the visit. Before I could speak about my history and my wishes for the fiture, doctor was already asking me what I was using for contraceptives, not given a pregnancy test BEFORE the PAP and was told to lose weight, even though I have lost approx 50 lbs over the last few years. I think their office may book too many people at one time so I did not feel comfortable speaking to the doctor because she had too many people before and after me, and some waiting for her in other rooms. She spoke to me, and I did feel judged without being able to talk about my health history. She never asked what meds I was currently taking, and she assumed my BP was elevated because of my weight, rather than because I need a root canal on Saturday, and I am in terrible pain from this, I am from Northeast and I just think the practice of medicine is COMPLETELY different in FL so maybe I need to adjust to the state. So far, I am not feeling like I was heard yesterday... do not think I will be returning to this office, unfortunately!

Dr. Tamayo was really great and made me feel comfortable - she asked questions and gave really good explanations. Her staff were also helpful and kind. The only issue was the wait was a little long (about 40 minutes post appointment time), but that will not stop me from going back to see her.
