Dr. Andrea Das, MD, FACOG is a Diplomat and Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Das graduated with honors from the Calcutta National Medical College in India and completed a postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology followed by a clinical fellowship in Minimally Invasive surgery at one of the premier institutions of India. Thereafter, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Illinois at Chicago, where she received the American Association of gynecologic Laparoscopist award for surgical excellence. She has published in journals and at several conferences.
Dr. Das has over ten years of experience in High-risk obstetrics, minimally-invasive surgery, urogynecological procedure and infertility. She treats patients individually in a very warm and comforting way. Dr. Das strongly believes in active patient participation in medical decision-making. Along with her excellent set of skills, she also brings a very compassionate and personalized approach while treating her patients. She lives in the Northwest suburbs with her husband and two boys.

I will never see this doctor again. I was excited to see Dr. Das based on her reviews: I thought she would be amazing. I was wrong. I left her office sobbing and feeling violated.
This was my first gynecology appointment and the first appt. I've gone alone. I turned 20 this year and wanted some answers to my irregular and excruciating cycle.
The office asked me to come in later than my appointment was scheduled to literally "make Dr. Das happy". I spent a lot on the commute alone (I thought it was worth it knowing good doctors are hard to come by) I came later than scheduled- per request. Dr. Das was late.
When I was finally summoned into her office. There were no pleasantries and it was obvious she was rushing me to get on with her day. I tried to explain to her the pain and heartache menstruation has caused me from a young age to which she replied- "Oh that's not that bad." She prescribed me a pill to make my period come without listening to me.
She sent me to a room for 'tests' and quickly left. A nurse return (the ONLY upside to this- the nurse was AMAZING so incredibly kind) When the nurse arrived she told me she was here to draw my blood. Which I was 1, unaware of, and 2- have never done due to my low iron. I felt so violated and confused due to the lack of communion. Dr. Das maybe spoke to me for 3 minutes before passing me to a nurse.
The nurse had to retrieve her because of the communication errors. When she returned she asked me to lay down without telling me why. She sweated at my clothes asking me to unbutton and unzip my pants. I was being immensely nervous and confused by the entire process. I was sweating because I was scared and unconformable. To which she made a sarcastic comment about my nerves and sweat. In response, I told her I was nervous and confused. She said nothing.
Last she quickly mentions the possibility of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome with NO explanation and then tries to leave immediately!! I of course asked her that is and she said we will "Talk more about it later after the blood work." and leaves.
I've never had a worse experience with a Doctor. My father has been in the medical field for over 15+ years and this is the type of doctor I have always been warrened against.

Dr. Das is informative, to the point, and no nonsense... this is EXACTLY what I look for in a doctor. I left my appointment with all my questions answered. The entire office staff was kind and caring.
