About Dr. Andrew Bean
Dr. Andrew Bean is a native Texan who grew up in the Texas Panhandle. He attended The University of Texas at Austin where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Nutrition.
He attended medical school at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where he was elected by his peers and mentors into the Gold Humanism Honors Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at West Virginia University, and left having performed the most resident cataract surgeries in program history. He pursued further training in an AUPO certified fellowship in glaucoma at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Bean has a passion for teaching, and was voted “Fellow Teacher of the Year” by the resident doctors during his fellowship. He brings this same passion to educating his patients on their own disease and empowering them to choose the best treatment options.
He loves to spend time with his wife, two kids, and their dog. They enjoy hiking, camping, and exploring the beautiful Texas Hill Country. He’s also an avid sports fan, and loves to cheer on his Longhorns.

I have always had a good experience with this office. The staff is friendly and competent, the clinic is clean an the wait is not too bad. Dr. Bean is a very thorough clinician and has a very good bedside manner. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Alamo Ranch office as well as Dr. Bean.

Visited this practice for a chalazion. From the front desk to the patient room they were great. Employee at the front desk was friendly & helpful while dealing with patients. Nurse that checked me in was very helpful and took the time to listen to my concerns. Dr. Bean explained everything in detail to me when I had questions and made me feel at ease.
