About Dr. Andrew Goodwillie

Andrew Goodwillie, M.D specializes in Sports Medicine and has practiced orthopaedic surgery in the Great Neck area since 2012. He holds the academic title of Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Dr. Goodwillie earned his medical degree from New York University after completing his undergraduate degree at Yale University. He then completed an orthopedic surgery residency at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson, followed by a Sports Medicine fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital where he was an integral part of the medical staff for the New York Jets (NFL) and New York Islanders (NHL). Dr. Goodwillie is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who addresses a wide range of athletic injuries with detailed assessment and care; including acute tendon and ligament injuries, chronic tendon and overuse injuries, sprains/strains, fractures, and any other sports injuries. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He is dedicated to leadership and education in orthopaedic surgery, and is a published educator at the local, regional and national level. Dr. Goodwillie practices as an attending surgeon at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital where he promotes a comprehensive and individualized approach to patient care. He recognizes the importance of shared decision making with his patients and practices state of the art surgical procedures. His passion for the treatment of athletes is exemplified by his current position as the team orthopedist for Hofstra University (NCAA DI) and multiple local high schools, as well as previously acting as a team physician for the New York Cosmos (NASL) and New York Lizards (MLL).
