About Ani Baran

*If you have not met your deductible, we are happy to work with you if you agree to at least X visits. Owner and lead acupuncturist Ani Baran, L.Ac., was born in Yerevan, Armenia, and moved to New Jersey at age three. Growing up in Fort Lee, she attended Fordham University for pre-med and Columbia University for research-but knew she wanted to help people more naturally. As the opioid epidemic peaked, her calling grew stronger, leading her to explore natural pain relief. She combined her passion for biology and healing by training to become a licensed acupuncturist. Ani earned her Diploma in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine. She completed over 2,000 hours of training, passed all exams, studied Chinese medicine theory, and spent more than three years honing clinical skills. After marrying her husband Mike and moving to Bayonne-his hometown-she opened both NJ Acupuncture Center locations and has never looked back. Loving her work, she says the best part is, ?I get to help others become pain-free, assist in pregnancy goals, manage stress-different treatments but the end result is side-effect-free therapy.? Most rewarding to Ani is helping couples achieve fertility goals through supportive acupuncture. ?I love being part of their journey through a very special time.? Though many are apprehensive about acupuncture at first, Ani says, ?Once you try it, you'll never want to stop! It's amazing-your body recharged and reenergized. You'll always want to feel that way!?

She is the best, I recommend her to all my family & friends.
My insurance doesn’t cover acupuncture although I was given the impression by Zocdoc app that it was covered. When I got to the office I was told my insurance doesn’t cover acupuncture. The provider then ran through multiple payment options, plans & methods, emphasizing that if I paid in cash the cost is reduced. The provider really wanted to be paid in cash. The whole interaction truly creeped me out & I just walked out.

This is my first time going. I have had acupuncture before and had great relief from my pain. They are misleading also as to say the doctor will see me. Acupuncturists are holistic therapists. Told them I was still in pain when I walked out but their advice is 3 times a week the next month. I am a massage therapist and the massage I got after the acupuncture which I didn’t feel the needles was aweful. They did not even recommend anything to do or take. Will take my loss but I now understand why people are skeptical about doing holistic treatments and as a person in the business I know it helps a great deal. But this place is not it.
