Dr. Rao was raised in the Bay Area and spent her childhood in Fremont. She went to college at UCLA and then moved across the country to attend medical school at New York Medical College. While in medical school, she developed a strong interest in community health and preventive medicine and pursued a joint degree in medicine and public health (MD/MPH).
After 8 years away from the beautiful Bay Area, Dr. Rao returned to her beloved home and completed her obstetrics/gynecology residency at Stanford University. While in residency, she received awards for patient care and laparoscopy. She then spent several years in practice at Kaiser Mountain View before joining Women’s Care Medical Group in 2009.
She is skilled in some of the newest techniques in gynecology such as NovaSure endometrial ablation, laparoscopic hysterectomy and Essure. She is also a new mother to an adorable boy!
