About Dr. Andrew Liu

Dr. Liu was born in Taiwan and emigrated to the United States in 1970. He lived in Connecticut, Pennsylvania and attended Carnegie Mellon University graduating with a BS degree in Mathematics. He then followed his father's footstep into the medical profession. He attended University of Pittsburgh Medical School where he achieved Honors in Advanced Medicine and Surgical Dissection. He went on to Case Western Reserve University for his specialty training in OB/GYN. He received the Outstanding Resident Teacher of the Year Award for two consecutive years in 1986 and 1987 and was executive Chief Resident in 1987. He also met his wife, Dr. Dorothy Shoup, during his residency. He became Board Certified in OB/GYN in 1990. Dr. Liu joined the Redwood Medical Clinic in 1989 and subsequently branched off and founded Women's Care Medical Group in 1992 along with Dr. Shoup. They have been in the Sequoia Hospital community ever since. He was a past President of the Peninsula Gynecologic Society and had served as Chairman of the Department of OB/GYN at Sequoia Hospital. In 2016, Women's Care began its collaboration with Stanford Medicine Children's Health and today continues to care for the Sequoia Community with its high standard of personalized service. Dr. Liu and Dr. Shoup have two boys who were both born at Sequoia Hospital. He speaks fluent Mandarin. He enjoys golf as a member at Palo Alto Hills and Napa Silverado Country Clubs. He plays the guitar and enjoys music and spending time with his family.

He is very nice, and patient on answering my questions. During the COVID, the health center is really doing a great job on some additional measures, which make me feel very comfortable. They provided additional gloves and masks, sanitized the pens before handing it to me to fill out the form, and absolutely social distancing. Both Doctor Liu and the assistants listened to my needs and answered my questions thoroughly and patient. I highly recommend Doctor Liu.
My visit with Dr. Lin was fabulous. I knew him from some of my friends. They were patients of Dr. Liu and they been telling me how good he was and how profession and knowledged he is. So I came in to see him. I loved my visit and (really) like Dr. Liu.
